The Maker

Same hands.
Both steps.

Guy Konzi started Afyka Carpentry in 2006 with one belief: the person who draws your kitchen should be the same person who builds and installs it.

Now with nearly two decades on residential and commercial sites across South Africa — hundreds of kitchens, wardrobes, TV units, and bespoke furniture pieces. Every single one by hand.

There are no junior fitters, no subcontractors, and no hand-offs. When Guy measures your space, he's already thinking about the joints, the grain direction, and the hardware.

01 — Principle

No subcontractors. Ever.

Guy doesn't outsource. Not the measuring, not the building, not the installation. If something isn't right, he's the one who fixes it — no blame game, no call-backs to a third party.

02 — Principle

Nothing ordered until you sign off.

Every job starts with a drawing — not a mood board, an actual dimensioned plan. Materials and hardware aren't ordered until you've approved every detail. No surprises on installation day.

03 — Principle

Built to last, not to look good in photos.

The joints are right even where you can't see them. The drawer slides are quality hardware. The finish goes on properly. Guy's work has to survive daily use — for years.

04 — Principle

The job is done when it's actually done.

Snagging happens on installation day, not three weeks later. Guy doesn't leave a site until the doors hang right, the drawers pull smoothly, and the client is satisfied.
